Highlander hails from Newcastle, Australia and has been rocking the Celtic world for years now headlining many Celtic and Folk festivals. The band is known as the Scottish Celtic Rock band from down-under and features heart stomping Bagpipes, Fiddle and Rocking Rhythm.

Highlander is a five-piece Celtic band featuring heart stomping Bagpipes, fiddle and rocking rhythm. It’s the band’s passion for Celtic music that drives Highlander’s energetic live performance which appeals to all ages. The band has performed at many Celtic & Folk festivals including the Australian Celtic Festival for the past 10 years and the National Celtic Festival.

In 2014 the band was awarded Best Instrumental and Best Traditional Song in the Australian Celtic Music Awards. The bands third album "Start the Fire", released in 2022, includes original material as well as some well-known covers and traditional arrangements. The title track is about the Flying Scotsman steam locomotive and has featured on BBC Scotland's Afternoon Show.
