CelticFest Warwick celebrates the Southern Downs’ rich Scottish and Irish heritage as well as contemporary Celtic culture and the natural beauty of the region.

The main event, CelticFest, will be held Saturday 30 September - Sunday 1 October, at the Warwick Showgrounds, with CelticFringe bringing you satellite events across the region Friday 29 September - Monday 2 October.

CelticFest 

Warwick Showgrounds - 18 Kingsford Street

​It will run from 2pm-10pm Saturday 30 September and from 9am - 4pm Sunday 1 October, 2023, with so much, almost too much, to see and do:

Saturday 30 September - Irish Night 2pm - 10pm

  • Band - Main Stage, Headlined by The Gathering 'kick-arse' Irish Band

  • Ceilidh (Celtic bush dance) - Hosted by the Darling Downs Irish Club

  • Medieval Village life with Viking battles and Jacobite swordsmanship

  • Australian Highland Games Championships

  • Highland Coos

  • Food & Irish Bar

Sunday 1 October - All Things Celtic 9am - 4pm

  • · Australian Highland Games Championships including the Caber Toss

  • · Medieval Village life with Viking battles and Jacobite swordsmanship

  • · Celtic Bands, Pipe Bands, Buskers

  • · Irish and Highland Dancing

  • · Gathering of the Clans and Genealogy Experts

  • · Celtic Country Markets and Lost Trades

  • · Celtic Animals – ‘Highland Coos’ and more cuties to meet

  • · Celtic inspired Bar and Food

CelticFringe 

CelticFringe will see the region’s people stir their Celtic roots and welcome you to immerse yourself in a range of Celtic experiences. Many are free, with some having an entry fee:

  • Inaugural Australian Juvenile Pipe Bands Championships hosted by Scots PGC College 

  • Downs Explorer Historical Train Trips

  • Celtic Bands and Workshops at Club Warwick RSL

  • Park Run – Celtic style

  • Heritage Trail Walks – open historical buildings including Pringle Cottage & Glengallan Homestead

  • Heritage and Art Drive Trails

  • Celtic Music at local eateries

CelticFest acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land where we work and live. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We celebrate the stories, culture and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders of all communities who also work and live on this land.
